Making a Premium Cup of Coffee is Easy
Why a French Press
Coffee grounds make direct contact with hot water during the brewing process. They are then pressed with mesh, not filtered with paper. Coffee brewed with a French Press captures more of the coffee’s subtle flavors and essential oils. For these reasons, enthusiasts feel a French pressed coffee is the best way to experience the flavor and aroma of quality coffees.
Coffee is brewed by combining freshly ground coffee with hot water in the cup, and snapping the XPress lid on the top of the cup. After allowing the coffee to brew a few minutes, the barista or customer depresses a supplied rod which moves the press down into the cup. When the press snaps into place, the coffee grounds are trapped at the bottom of the cup. When you hear the click, it’s time to drink and go. Condiments can still be added, by removing the lid, adding them, and then replacing the lid.
SmartCup, Inc. manufactures and sells the award-winning XPress lid to specialty coffee retailers, independent shops, and distributors. The company is also developing packaging for grocery and other retail stores for home and office use.
